Chiropractic is Effective

Every organ, tissue, and cell is controlled by nerve impulses traveling from your brain to every part of your body. In this way the nervous system controls every function of your body; breathing, heartbeat, digestion, resistance to disease, and muscle control.

Nerves can become pinched or irritated as they travel from the brain to the different organs. This irritation can disturb normal function throughout the body, causing many diseases and pains.

Chiropractors work with the bones, muscles, ligaments, and the discs, primarily of the spine, to remove irritation of the nerves that may cause the problem. The reason Chiropractic works so well is that it removes the cause of your problem. It does not just cover up the symptoms.

The US. Court of Appeals and the US. Supreme Court agreed with the efficacy of chiropractic in the landmark case of Wilk vs. AMA. US. Court of Appeals Judge Getzendanner rejected the AMA’s ‘medical patient case’ defense, citing scientific studies from the Workmans Compensation Bureau which proved that “chiropractic case was twice as effective as medical care in relieving many painful conditions of the neck and back, as well as related musculo-skeletal problems.”

An article in The Chiropractic Journal notes that in 1994, the federal Agency for Health Case Policy and Research (AHCPR) approved the efficacy of spinal adjustment.

A major study in 1993 called The Effectiveness and Cost-Effectiveness of Chiropractic Management of Low-Back Pain, also known as the Manga Report, funded by the Ontariao Ministry of Health overwhelmingly supported the efficacy, safety, scientific validity, and cost-effectiveness of chiropractic for low-back pain.

The Journal of Family Practice published an article in November 1992 by Curtis and Bove which stated that “the number of days of disability for patients seen by family physicians was significantly higher (mean 39.7) than for patents managed by chiropractors (mean 10.8).”
