Posture is very important because being out of alignment or crooked puts abnormal stress or weight on bone, discs, and joints, and wears them out, causing arthritis. Being out of alignment also affects the nerves which go to all the parts of the body including not only the muscles, but also the internal organs.

Poor posture over an extended period of time can result in loss of mobility and alignment of the vertebrae. Misaligned bones in the spine, called a subluxation, can lead to damage to both the discs and the the bones involved. Spinal imbalances such as lordosis or scoliosis can also cause damage. Often by the time symptoms appear, damage has already begun.

At GetBack Chiropractic, the doctors practice a technique called Clinical Biomechanics of Posture®, also known as Chiropractic Biophysics or CBP. In CBP, abnormal human posture is analyzed and corrected by means of what is termed “mirror-image” adjustments. This is done by stressing the patient’s abnormal posture into its exact opposite or mirror image and then a gentle force is applied toward alignment.

If your posture is poor, and you feel powerless to correct it, don’t delay. Get chiropractic treatment from a doctor skilled in Clinical Biomechanics of Posture® before your poor posture results in tissue damage.
